Choosing to abide the doctor’s guidelines and drink two litres of water a day might come to haunt you when sitting in motorway traffic or roaming the wild with no amenities in the offing. If you got caught in either situation your only path to redemption would be either to accept defeat or commit indiscretion, respectively. As I arrived at the Horseshoe Falls the pedometer was recording three-and-a-half miles which, in this heat, felt more like a half Marathon. So when I walked into the nearby Chainbridge –lovely old hotel nestled amidst canal and river Dee- I was thirsty, but I stuck to my guns and refused to drink water. So I drank a lot of beer and marvelled at the surrounding nature. Now, on my way back I am witnessing the aura a sunset like this can impart, but I have to capture it in haste as a different kind of nature is calling, in fact screaming at me. It is at least another two miles to the town and the sound of the exhilarant river, so clearly resounding from afar, doesn’t help. Light is dwindling and just as well that it is because I am desperately looking for a tree...

Thanks Doug! You must know now why the Siberian Huskies are amongst the fastest dogs in the world: because the distance between trees is huge there. I still remember that sunset because I was anything byt mystified and relaxed. I was walking at a Siberian Husky's pace and feeling like a Russian Racehorse about to enter the Kentucky Derby.

Once again my friend you offer another gloriously detailed 3D picture postcard scene...bravo! I'm trying to figure out which tree was the lucky one?? :))

Thank you, my dear Sal... it was an old building at the end that accepted my offerings reluctantly x

I still remember this week in North Wales, Deanne. The temperature didn't fall below 26C, very weird for these lands. Thanks a lot!
