Behind The Lens

Location

I took this Picture at Farne island in Scotland UK

Time

June 2017 one overcast afternoon the light is prefect for bird photography special in white colour birds

Lighting

The weather was prefect which it like a filter for the bird as I took this pictures at afternoon normal the sun light is very strong but the overcast / cloudy day that helpful for me to capture the detail of the white bird

Equipment

I was using 1dx mark II + 300mm F2.8III + 1.4xIII

Inspiration

it like make a dream come true ~ I saw puffin pictures at website and set this is the shot I want ~ that is my 2nd trip to Uk for bird photography I found the black head gull always chasing the puffin to get the fishes from their beak and found a eyes level shooting area with puffin nest hole I just waiting there and wishing the puffin back finally the target was landed , puffin landing with full beak of fishes and the black headed gull start chase around him

Editing

my post processing just Lightroom cropping and some basic editing

In my camera bag

normal I put 1dx mark II and 5d mark IV in my bag now maybe replace the 5d mark IV to EOS R 600mm F4 lens 300mm F2.8 lens and 16-35mm f2.8III

Feedback

first of all ~ you have to well design your plan and idea what kind of pictures you want to get then you have to know what kind of gear you have to bring try to see more others photographer output learn from them and put your own idea of your next output try different setting of your camera try different angel when you shooting . Think of out of the box Think before shooting
