Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at the 'Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle' in Marseille.

Time

In the afternoon

Lighting

There was not much light. I had to choose a high sensibility of Iso (5600) to keep the depth I wanted

Equipment

I used a Nikon D750 and a 20mm, f2,8. No flash, no tripod.

Inspiration

The warm light in the museum and the appearance of the head of the rhinoceros trough the door inspired me the most. I do like exploring the places where photographies are exposed. I went to the museum because there was the exposition of the french artist, Sophie Calle, CINQ. As a matter of fact, this picture belongs to this project. 'The eye of photography' published my portfolio called 'The places of meetings' which is inspired by the same intention. https://loeildelaphotographie.com/en/barbara-gussoni-the-places-of-meetings/?fbclid=IwAR3Ctb8YDhS6LC9mx-h2K3fTOz_LA8tDS5-reXMvcdRcNIf6Oafr5AQMPmI

Editing

I used Adobe Lightroom. I did automatique corrections. I choose natural light. I cut the picture to reduce the left side of the door and give more importance to the head of the rhinoceros.

In my camera bag

Not much!!! My Nikon D750, Tamron 24/70 f2,8, Nikon 20 f2,8, tripod Manfrotto befree. Sometimes I take with me a Nikon 80/200 f2,8

Feedback

The light talks to you and helps you to compose with harmony. Try to see the entire scene without concentrating on one thing, on one subject. What is around the subject is as important as the subject itself. Use natural light as much as possible even in interior.
