Behind The Lens

Location

In the front yard of my house, where we have a large bed of various flowers and grasses.

Time

I would say this was taken mid-day/afternoon.

Lighting

In all honesty, I was not expecting the lighting to really pop as much as it did in this photo. These lily of the valley just happened to pop out within the bed of green.

Equipment

I just used by Canon Rebel T6i with a regular 18-55mm Image Stabilizer lens

Inspiration

Saw how unique these lovely flowers were amongst a field of green, and felt they deserved to be seen.

Editing

When I post-process, I usually add a lightroom preset filter over my photos, with slight color and lighting corrections, to make the subjects in my photos stick out a little more.

In my camera bag

Along with my Canon Rebel T6i and my regular image stabilizing lens, I also keep some lens filters, a boom microphone, camera/lens cleaning equipment, and a 75-300mm Zoom Lens.

Feedback

Take pictures of what pops out to you and of any moment you can see. If taking pictures of flowers, try to find the ones that are unique amongst the group, think of the ones that probably don't get photographed as much as the others.
