Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at Wingham Wildlife Park, near Canterbury, Kent U.K.

Time

The Wolves are close to the exit, so it was taken late afternoon. It was by chance that this Alfa male was watching a keeper, hoping it was evening meal time.

Lighting

Late afternoon low sun .

Equipment

I use a Canon 700D with my go-to lens when at this Wildlife Park. A Sigma 120-400 f4.5. I tend to use it hand held. I never use flash as the animals and owner don't like it.

Inspiration

This Alfa Male is so handsome, how can one resist taking his picture.

Editing

I tend to shoot JPEGs so I can get multiple shots. Pick the best image. Which I then probably crop and change the basic levels in Windows and the Canon editing software.

In my camera bag

The one and only body Canon 700D, but would like another body. A Sigma 18-300 and a Canon10-28. The last item is a mono-pod. This has a quick release and swivel head. Bought separately.

Feedback

If the subject matter is behind a fence. Shoot through the shadow on the fence and open the lens as wide as you can. This way one can loose the fence wires.
