Location
This photo was taken in the Thingvellir National park, in Iceland. It is on the way to see Oxararfoss waterfall.Time
This photo was taken in the morning of our second day on my trip around Iceland.Lighting
Weather was cloudy. All views had quiet and contemplative mood.Equipment
Nikon D7200 and 18-140mm lensInspiration
I try sometimes to use portrait mode on landscapes. On this one, the several layers / horizontal lines create nice references, starting from the grass in the foreground to the sky.Editing
Almost no postprocessing in this case.In my camera bag
My travel kit consists currently consists of the Nikon D7200 and two lenses that do not weight too much and cover most of the travel needs: a 18-140mm zoom and an ultrawide 10-24mm zoom, which is great for landscapes. Other than that I just carry the lens hood, polarizer filter (rarely used) end some cleaning cloth (used a lot in this travel due to the rain...). If I am driving, I leave a tripod in the trunk.Feedback
Obviously, take your gear with you (meaning, don't go for that walk leaving your camera behind because it's too big or too heavy... if you start doing this, get a smaller/lighter camera). Don't be discouraged by less than ideal weather and test different compositions. Many times, during a trip, we don't have the time we would like to study the scene and compose, so in some cases you must try different options and "filter" later.
