The historic railroad Volos - Milιes, the train of Pelion, as it is better known, was constructed in two stages from 1894 until 1903.
The now legendary "Moutzouris" linked the commercial and industrial center of Volos with the fertile and rich area of West Pelion, slopes and olive groves of the mountain of centaurs.
Until 1950 o train with the Belgian engines "Milaiai" "Jason" "Pelion", "Volos", "Tsagarada" and vagonakia of with smaller engines also serving the needs of the city as a tramway for public transportation of Volos .
For 80 years there has been a benchmark for the region.
After the abolition in 1971 made efforts to reopen as (museum) tourist railway in an environment of natural beauty. After major reconstruction projects by the infrastructure came on again in 1996.
