Location
This was taken in the amazing Killarney National Park county Kerry Ireland. It is called Torc waterfall. Such a fantastic hike and place.Time
This was early evening if I remember correctly.Lighting
The lighting for waterfall shots is always best with cloud cover (not hard to find in Ireland) or anytime that doesn't cast too much light, as certain parts can be highlighted when you don't want them to be. As well as getting a long exposure for that silky smooth water during the day is hard when its bright out.Equipment
Camera? Yes. Tripod? Most definitely. I use a Sony A7III, with a "3 legged thing" tripod. A remote timer, and patience, as people like to get in the way. A lot.Inspiration
I had actually scouted this area online quite a bit before I left the country. I do this like mad before I travel anywhere. You only get so long when your travelling, and making the most of it gives me less of a headache.Editing
I did do post processing. As this is an HDR landscape, with a long exposure. I shoot in RAW, which means a lot of colour correction, and post sharpening. In my camera bag
I always go with my Sony A7III, my tripod (3 legged thing). For lenses, I carry a 16-35mm f4 wide angle, 70-200mm f4 telephoto, and a 50mm 1.2 portrait (ish) lens.Feedback
The lighting again is best with overcast day for long exposure. Needs to be on a tripod as handheld will never come out sharp. Try to wait for people to leave the frame, or get really good at cloning in post. Try not to get any overly bright portions in the photo as it will take away from what's important.
