Location
This was taken at my friend Dave's home studio in Baltimore, Md. Tracy had traveled down to Baltimore from NYC, and I was lucky to schedule some time with her.Time
It was probably around mid day, but I don't specifically remember.Lighting
This is a one light setup. One strobe in a large strip box was mounted on a boom, and positioned directly above the model. The model was positioned at the far edge of the strip box in order to allow the light to wrap as much as possible around the front of the model.Equipment
An Alien Bee, B-800 strobe was used in a Paul C Buff large strip box. I shot the image with a Fujifilm XT-1, with a 50-140 f2.8 zoom lens.Inspiration
This was just one of several sets that I did with Tracy that day. I like the dramatic nature of the lighting pattern I thought this pose worked especially well.Editing
Some adjustments to contrast were done during raw conversion in Lightroom, and conversion to black and white was done in Photoshop using Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.In my camera bag
I have a Fuji XT-1 and XE-2 in my bag, along with four Fujifilm lenses. My most used lens is the 50-140 f2.8 zoom, but I also periodically use the 18-55 f2.8-4 zoom, along with a 35 mm f1.4 and 56 mm f1.2 prime lenses.Feedback
This is a relatively simple lighting setup. But you do need to remember to have the model to cheat her eyes upward to avoid raccoon eyes.
