It was in the morning.Lighting
I usually take pictures about newborn babies in natural light. It happened in the same way in case of this picture.Equipment
Canon eos 6d with Sigma Art 50mm lensInspiration
This picture was the last in the series about this baby boy - Marci, I took. He was so peaceful, and slept very deep, the light was perfect and did not want to stop taking pictures. So I decided the last picture was going to be something different than put him on the beanbag in a weird position.Editing
Yes. I always take pictures in raw. After white balance, contrast and lense correcting, made a little skin retouching and added blur vignette. In my camera bag
It depends what I want to photograph. In case of newborns, Sigma Art 50mm 1.4 is always in my bag. I put Tamron 24-70 2.8 lense also. Extra battery, extra sd card, baby shusher:) I photograph portraits: woman, business and child also. Love Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L II USM for portrait photography.Feedback
One of the major features of newborn photography to have patience and time enough, which is essential to take a picture like this. Be prepared for the situations when newborns are not to cooperative. Should be very flexible. Also natural light may be a challenge when the weather is unpredictable. More and more exercise to handle challenging situations and not to panic if something does not happen as planned and expected. I always learn from each of my photography sessions. Devoting time for self development, taking retouching, photography and lighting courses is inevitable.
