Behind The Lens

Location

Moorea lagoon, french polynesia

Time

daytime , maybe 2pm

Lighting

no strobes are used. French Polynesia offers around 300 sunny days per year, and when it's sunny the lagoon shows all of its blue shades.

Equipment

nikon D750 with 14-24mm at 14mm,housing and a big glass dome

Inspiration

The brightness of this lagoon for sure! I spent 3-4hours to get the right shot. a stingray fills the foreground while black tip reef sharks appear in th e background.

Editing

I restablished the white balance, then increased a little bit contrast and clarity.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750 Nikon D850 2 housings 3 domes including 2 big glass dome, 2 ports for macro photo lenses : 14-24mm nikkor, 105 macro, 60 macro, tokina 10-17mm fisheye strobes INON 2000

close your aperture. I've seen pictures like that one with a blurred background, what a pity! the background is as important as foreground and need to be sharp
