Location
This photo was taken in Eastern Oregon at the Boardman Tree Farm. Sadly this magical, mystical place is no longer around. The land was sold off and the trees where cut down. I am grateful to have captured this before all that took place.Time
It was a late fall afternoon with partly cloudy skys. A bit on the chilly side that day. We had just got a good rain so the ground was soaked.Lighting
Sunset about 20 minutes after this shot was taken on a chilly fall afternoon.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark iii, Rokinon 14mm 2.8, F/4, 1/160, ISO 400- HandheldInspiration
The colors and mystical feeling where amazing. It was so quite inside the trees that you could hear leafs hitting the wet ground as the soft wind blew up above. I wanted to capture that feeling and beauty as best I could.Editing
I toned down the highlights and bit and added a bit of saturation so it resembled what I actually saw to the best of my abilities. In my camera bag
I am a wedding and portrait photographer 90% of the time I shoot. I was doing a portrait shoot and just happen to have my 14mm with me that day. Normally I'm shooting with a 50mm 1.4 or a 70-200mm 2.8. So glad I brought the wide angle with me that day.Feedback
Always pack extra lenses, even if you don't use them all the time. You never know when a chance might arise where you'll need it.
