Location
I took this photo on a stroll past Gwrych Castle, Abergele, North Wales, with my better half who got me into photography again after a few years without getting my camera out. It was the beginning of Summer so we made the most of the late sunlight. The trees were lovely and full and green (I love trees!) This archway seems more enchanting everytime I walk through it.Time
It was around 5pm on a summer evening in June, 2016.Lighting
I live how the trees block the sun on my side of the arch, highlighting the green on the trees around the arch and beyond.Equipment
I used my anchient bog standard fujifilm bridge camera.Inspiration
I had seen this archway a few time on my walks, but never had my camera. The lighting was just perfect.Editing
I only use lightened for post-processing, so i boosted the saturation a bit and that was it!In my camera bag
I am a complete novice to photography, just getting used to ISO and aperture settings using my bridge camera. Im really enjoying it and aim to get myself a DSLR ASAP!!Feedback
Patience is a virtue. Trying lots of angles, even getting on the floor!! I've also found white balance is key when taking landscape photos. Don't always trust the automatic settings on bridge cameras, the only way to learn is to play around with it yourself.
