Location
I took this picture during my travels in New Zealand. This location is near mount Taranaki, it's a place with a tarn that reflects the mountain with almost perfect reflections.Time
The picture is taken during daytime, a couple hours before sunset. I wanted to stay till sunset but because of the clouds, I didn't expect a good sunset. Only for this picture I had to wait an hour to just see a bit of the mountain for just a couple of minutes. We also needed to head to the car with a 2-hour hike. When we got to the car it was cleared up completely. It's all natural light with no use of equipment. I travel light.Lighting
It's all natural light with no use of equipment. I travel as light as possible and I also like to use only natural light.Equipment
I use a Sony A7 with a kit lens 28-70 mm, 3.5-5.6F(small and light for travel with a lot of power) I also use a MeFoto tripod that is easy to fold in so I can make is as small as possible so it fits in my day pack.Inspiration
I love traveling I have been doing it for the past year now and taking pictures during my travels gives me the ability to share the locations that I visit. I can do this in my own way and I like to try to get the feeling I had back in an image by trying to add the WOW factor to this image. I have to say that I won't always get this result but that does not stop me from trying. I also like to inspire people to see the world by showing what I have seen. To answer the question what inspired me? Travelling, Nature, Life and the will to share images with the feeling I had in a place, the WOW factor.Editing
I use mainly Lightroom and sometimes I get some help from Photoshop. Since a while, I found color effects pro and re-edited this image. I might post that version in the near future. I like to keep learning new things every day that will help me taking pictures to a new level. In this image, I used only Lightroom, opening the shadows so the light is more balanced and some more sliders. I also help the eyes to be guided to the main subject by some dodge and burning. In my camera bag
I have my Sony A7 and the kit lens. I added a 35mm 2.8F Zeiss to my collection a couple months ago. As for the tripod, I have the MeFoto Tripod, It might not always be the most stable or the highest tripod but it its one of the most compact ones. I also have a circular ND and a polarizer filter from Kenko. This is what I use for taking pictures but I also carry a sensor cleaning set and lens cloth with me, and the most important equipment I got with me is a power bank and a small travel solar panel so I almost never really run out of power while traveling.Feedback
Go out in nature, places that are amazing won't come to you, you need to travel to them. I am traveling for a year now and I am not regretting any moment of it. But it is easy for me to say I don't have any responsibilities at home my home is where I am atm (somewhere in the world where I can discover new places). But even so go away for a week or more just to see the best places in the world and enjoy life.
