A very warm and inviting photo. Your color and light renditions are excellent!

Wow! Those flowers in the foreground make all the difference. I also really like the light rays.

Location
This photo was taken on a mountain top villa in Letojanni, Sicily. My family and I rented out this beautiful villa for 2 weeks in August.Time
I would love waking up early while everything was still and quiet. I would walk outside to the patio where the flowers grew at the edge of the cliff. I can still feel the warm sun and smell the sweet fragrant scent of the Oleander being carried by the gentle morning breeze on this lovely start to a beautiful August day.Lighting
This particular morning was special. There was a thick morning haze being burnt off by the sun. I wanted to be able to capture all the sun rays beaming out from behind the clouds.Equipment
This was shot hand held on a Nikon d7100 with a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
This was my first time traveling to Sicily and I wanted to capture a photo that would remind me of this eventful moment in my life for years to come. Every time I look at it I can still smell the fragrant scent of the flowers and the heat of the sun.Editing
This photo was processed from a single raw file in Light Room first correcting for lens profile, horizon, white balance, highlights and shadows along with other minor adjustments. Then brought into Photo shop for dust spots and sharpening. In my camera bag
Normally if I am not traveling I shoot with a Nikon d810 with a vertical grip and remote shutter release. If I am going out for landscape My lens of choice is the Tamron 15-30 2.8 along with my 10 stop Neutral density filters by Haida. Recently for landscape I have been using my vintage 1970's Nikkor 20mm 3.5 AIS. with a 10 stop B+W filter. I love the simplicity and the look I get with vintage lenses. Last but not least I always have a mini tripod stashed in my bag, Oben TT-100 Table Top Tripod. Its a go anywhere instant tripod if you ever find yourself in need of one and you don't have your big tripod with you or if you are not allowed in certain spaces with a large tripod. Yes it holds my d810 with vertical grip with a 20mm prime with no problem.Feedback
Always get to where you are going early and scout out your composition, Moving around to see what works best looking for foreground interest. Once you find a working composition, stay there and continue to shoot as the light changes. You would be surprised at how fast the light changes. When you get home and you are reviewing your photos you will have a lot of options to choose from.
