Behind The Lens

Location

Right behind my house with a simple white backdrop.

Time

It was about 5pm.

Lighting

It was early spring and the sun was still setting fairly early so I got out there during the sunset so I could get soft, natural light. The white backdrop also picked up some light and made it look creamy and heavenly.

Equipment

Nikon 3300 w 1.4f 50mm lens.

Inspiration

I love glitter and what is prettier than a beautiful little girl blowing a handful of glitter into the air?!?

Editing

Yes I added a bokeh overlay to make it appear as if the glitter was hitting the lens and reflecting even more light.

In my camera bag

My Nikon 3300, my 1.4f 50mm lens, my foldable reflector and a lens hood.

Feedback

Patience! My friend and I experimented with a variety of glitter colors, sizes and textures before we found the one that would have the most impact, fly the way we wanted and show up on film the best. Also, a simple, clean backdrop is best so the focus can be on the glitter.
