Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my dining room, in front of the sliding glass doors. This was a spur of the moment quick shot as he tilted his head while I was talking to him.

Time

This photo was taken mid afternoon.

Lighting

No particular lighting was used.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D5300, using an 18 -55mm lens. No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this photo was the look on my dog Max's face. I just love his little head tilt when i talk to him. He was 3 months old, and is our first GSD.

Editing

No post processing was done.

In my camera bag

The first thing i always pack in my bag is my Nikon D5300 body, second is my favorite lense, my Nikon DX 55- 300mm! Ihave gotten some of my absolute favorite photos with that lense. Last handful of items are my extra batteries, memory cards and UV filters, macro lense and a small notebook for those settings I don't want to forget.

Feedback

As this shot was totally spur of the moment, my advise for capturing a similar photo would be to focus on your pups personality, rather than his surroundings. The eyes have it, there is much to be told through they eyes. So keeping that in mind, look for the story, the personality.
