This photo was taken in my own living room on a Sunday.Time
It was taken roughly mid afternoon in front of a sliding glass door. I lived in an apartment at the time. It was the only spot with enough light to take any kind of photo.Lighting
I honestly just wanted enough light to be able to capture the subject. If it’s dark in the room it’s dark on camera and you end up having to play with a bunch of settings to make it right. I waited for the light to come directly through the glass door and played with a bunch of different angles before getting this one.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel T3. I had the subject in her bouncer on a piece of white fur fabric that covered the whole thing. Made for a cute photo opportunity and a safe place for her.Inspiration
The thought of this photo just kind of came to me. I already had the materials and just wanted to try something I hadn’t before.Editing
The only thing I really did to make it pop was brighten it up a bit, added a sepia filter along with a vignette and it came out looking like it came out of the 1800’s. As stated previously I was just getting into settings and editing so very little was done to make it what it is. I couldn’t be happier with it.In my camera bag
I have since changed from Canon to Nikon. I carry a Nikon D3400. I always have both the 70-300mm lens and the 18-55mm when I do any kind of shooting. I also carry extra batteries and chargers. I do carry a lens cleaning kit, more often than not I need to clean the lens off at least twice. I also carry ND filters and flower lens hoods. One for each lens. I am one of those rather be over prepared than under prepared kind of people.Feedback
Do it when the lighting is right. Make sure the subject is comfortable so everything goes smoothly. Be patient.
