Location
I took this photo in a garden I was exploring.Time
It was probably around noon or so.Lighting
It’s funny because when I was taking this photo, there was a white tent a little further behind the flower, and because the sun was so strong that day, it actually gave me that completely white background.Equipment
I used my canon EOS Rebel T3 (the first DSLR camera in my collection that I was finally able to buy :) ), with a 24-105mm lens.Inspiration
I love nature and all of the things in it (well...maybe not so much spiders). At this point I’ve traveled many places around the world (with much more in need to come) to capture various animals, landscapes, and fish from the ocean. My dream would to be a professional wildlife photographer one day.Editing
Because it was such a bright picture, I reduced the noise some and then boosted the saturation up a hair, but that was about itIn my camera bag
That camera and lens are my go to, but I also have another camera body, a 50mm lens, a 150-600mm lens, and an 18-55mm lens (that I barely ever use. It was my first) . Then there’s the basic things like battery chargers, cleaning supplies, hoods, flashes, suckers, and all that good stuff.Feedback
I want to say first that I am not a professional. I don’t have the extremely expensive and super fancy equipment, and I have never had any classes or physical professional guidance. However, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t grown and figured things out as the years of my passion progressed, so I just want to make it clear that you can capture a beautiful photo with any camera. It’s the passion and patience.....and I do mean a lot of patience, especially with people...that makes your photos special. As for this photo, again, I patiently waited for this butterfly to stop long enough for me to take the photo. Natural lighting is the best for any picture, but play around with what works best for you. For example, I found early on that sunny days usually suck for most landscapes because it’s too harsh, so look for a new solution/angle.
