Location
The photo was taken at a park in Cheras, KL Malaysia. This is a favorite location for joggers and families to take a stroll in the evening, and relax.Time
Taken on last year's August, I was strolling the park in the afternoon looking for some interesting subject to shoot. Noticed the big tree would make an interesting image, I waited a while and gauged the position of sun when it begins to go down in the evening.Lighting
I always loved shooting in golden hour. Initially wanted to frame for the sphere in the middle of composition, but decided to move it and include elements in the right side and have different weight in left and right, as the sun light appears at the left side more.Equipment
This was shot with Sony a6000 and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, with LA-EA2 adapter, set on a tripod. No filter were used for this shot.Inspiration
While I was walking around not expecting to take any landscape shot as the park is quite crowded with park-goers, I noticed the big tree on a small island in the middle of the lake. Entranced by the shape and sight from the reflection, I walk around to find a suitable composition that will not be blocked by other elements and took the shot.Editing
I shot 3 different exposures and then blended them in PS using luminosity masks. And then import into LR again to make adjustments to contrast and boos the main colors of the sun and tree.In my camera bag
I usually roll around with Sony a6000 and a Tokina 11-16 ultrawide angle lens. Optionally I will take along Sigma 30mm and Minolta 75-300mm with me as well. These lenses work well for what I usually shoot.Feedback
As usual with landscape shoot, try to reach the place early and scout for composition that would be preferred, try out the settings and wait for the moment.
