Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken near where I live in Central Virginia.Time
It was mid-morning when I looked outside of my window and noticed all of the birds in the field. Immediately, I grabbed my new lens that my children had given me for Christmas. It was only the second time I had worked with this heavy lens.Lighting
Honestly, I didn't have time to even think much about lighting. I was afraid of missing the shot. It was a clear and sunny day.Equipment
I own a Canon Rebel T3i. I was using my new lens that my children had just given me. It's an Opteka 650-1300 mm F/8-16 Super Telephoto Zoom Lens. It was the second time that I attempted to use it.Inspiration
Eagles represent freedom. Growing up, I remember the eagle being on the endangered species list. Even though they are no longer on the endangered species list, I still get a great feeling every time I see one.Editing
If I recall correctly, I used Lightroom 5 to edit this photo. I was definitely in the early stages of teaching myself. In all honesty, I still have a lot to learn. In my camera bag
Since I carry my camera bag everywhere I go, it has kind of become like my purse. I carry my camera, two lenses (18-55 mm and 75-300 mm), three extra batteries, battery charger, a hood, several memory cards, a pen and a small note pad (in order for people to give me their contact info), a permanent marker (for autographs), cards to pass out with my name and contact information.Feedback
Always be prepared and carry your camera with you wherever you go.
