I took this photo one night at my old family home in Crawley.Time
I had not long upgraded my telescope and after a lot of waiting and patience I finally had a wonderful clear night to test it out.Lighting
I love photographing the half moon. I love the way the light shines on the moon, highlighting the craters beautifully.Equipment
I took this photo with a Canon 600D attached to a Celestron Nextar 130 slt automatic telescope.Inspiration
I have always had an attraction to astronomy especially the moon. It always appears so peaceful and tranquil up there in the sky.Editing
I edited the shot in Photoshop, Colour correction, exposure & contrast adjustment then a little sharpening and finally a little cropping. In my camera bag
As well as my Celestron telescope I usually carry my Canon 5DS with a Canon 24-105mm F4 L, a Canon 50mm f1.8, a Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 & For astrophotography I use a Samyang 14mm F2.8 manual lens.Feedback
For astrophotography, especially in England, patience is a must. Waiting for that perfect calm, clear, dark sky can take a while but when you get one the photos can make it well worth the wait.
