This photo was taken Apr 12 - 2015 in Tempelhof, BerlinTime
Part of my "Mystic Himmel" work I shot this one Apr 12 of last year (2015) at 19:30, the sun was getting ready for the horizon setting with a deep blue sky and the clouds where deeply involving it, that was the moment.Lighting
As the light source was the sun, I didn't want to assume the sun itself so through the double-exposure technique I took the first photo with the sun in centre and then I rotated 180º Horizontally and took the second shot making it like it was hidden behind the clouds, setting a centre light source with the clouds acting as a gradient tunnel from light to darkness.Equipment
At the time I was using a Canon EOS 6D with an EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM @ 22mm / ƒ/9.0 / 1/1250s/ ISO 320 with the in-camera multiple-exposure function.Inspiration
This photograph comes from a series called "Mystic Himmel" (mystic sky in german); where I explore the multiverse phenomena of the sky as an event horizon of our planetary roof. Through my photography projects I try to explore the concept of "multiverse"(or meta-universe), a concept in which theorises "... the hypothetical set of finite and infinite possible universes, including the universe in which we live."Editing
The photograph was taken with in-camera multiple-exposure function, developed in Lightroom adjusting the values of the contrast/highlights/shadows/whites & blacks, and that was it it.In my camera bag
Mostly I have my main camera, now a Canon EOS 5D MK3 which allows me more versatility working with the multiple-exposure specially with the "Brights mode" and 2 set of lens, the 16-35mm F2.8L and the new Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART (One of my best lenses ever), film cameras as yet again my priority is multiple-exposure; for 35mm film I use a Canon EOS 30ec (I'm an huge fan of eye control focus and wish I had it in the 5D) which I can through a special function to do multiple-exposure with the camera controlling the film advancement. For medium format I use an old "Zenith 80" the infamous "Hasselbladski", and I love the medium format other than the obvious reasons, but also I can take one exposure, take the back out, cock the shutter and put the back in again, and with it I can do as much as many multiple-exposures I want.Feedback
In this specific technique of photography, the only advice i can give is: "Question life!" ... Question everything around you, observe how everything is so deeply inter-connected in the universe and when you have your Ontological moment, when you have that deep question, try to capture it, play with it, no rules of thirds, no rules of thumb, just question and be yourself and let the camera and lens, be your soul & eyes .. to show us all what you see! I think that is the most rewarding moement in photography ... when we can see the world through other human soul.
