Location
I took this photo in Kent in an inlet off river Medway.Time
Early morning, it was a very cold frosty morning, in January. I am sat in freezing cold water, not able to move around, if I did the Water voles would disappear & probably not come back for hours. So not the easiest photos to get but well worth it, with the images I managed to get.Lighting
No not really, the light was not very good, so I had to put my iso up high enough to get a decent shot, as Water voles are always on the move, including their little noses.Equipment
I used a Canon 1D mark 1V with a canon 300 2.8 lens Yes I also used a Gitzo tripod with Benro Gimbal headInspiration
Water voles are my favourite mammal, so any chance I get I hopefully photograph them, if they turn up!!!Editing
No not really, just the usual like tweaking highlights & shadows, sharpening slightly, cropping if I felt it needed itIn my camera bag
This all depends on what I am photographing, for this two camera bodies, my other camera is a Canon 1D mark 111 Canon 70-200 & convertorsFeedback
Keep trying, if you don't get what you were hoping for the first time keep going back. Patience as I sit & wait for hours & hours waiting for the wildlife to turn up for one, then taking it slowly. Its no use clicking away like a mad person you will just scare it away again.
