Location
I took the photo on the river Vis in France. There are lovely cascades and just the sight of it is really amazing. First I just spent some time enjoying the view before getting to action. It was one of the stop on our travels around France with my sister last year.Time
It was taken at the evening. The sky was a bit cloudy and not letting much of the sunlight to go through.Lighting
Of course I hoped for nice soft and warm sunset light but as already mentioned, clouds did not let much of the sunlight to go through. Therefore I had to change my plans slightly and compose for the best use of the cascade and the river.Equipment
Canon 550D, Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2,8 116 Pro DX II, Induro AT214 tripod + BHL1 ball head, B+W CPL Polarizer + Hoya ND400 Neutral filter, remote trigger (cable)Inspiration
I love water in any form, may it be snow, ice, water, sea .. I am always amazed what nature can create and I am trying to capture the beauty and share it as I sometimes feel people forget what was given to us.Editing
The light conditions were not very difficult hence not much post processing was needed for this shot. Only added a bit of contrast and clarity. In my camera bag
I always love filling my f-stop bag with my photo gear and heading off for next adventure. I only have one body so far, Canon 550D. I always carry Canon 17-55 f/2.8, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, Tamron 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD. Depending on the trip I take my macro lens with me too, that is Canon 100mm f/2.8L and Canon 430 EX II. Remote cable trigger is always there together with CPL and ND filters, some reduction rings, spare batteries and storage cards, dust blower, lens cloth.Feedback
When light conditions are not so difficult it's still important to watch out for right balance between exposure and use of filters, neutral and polarizer. And keep eye on composition, as always :-)
