Taken while on safari in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. Our guide had worked as a ranger for 29 years told us that he had never seen something like this happen. It was truly a powerful feeling to watch nature take it's course. The painted stork eventually gave up the fight and the eagle, along with other carrion eaters would have a meal for the day.

Thank you! It really was. Our original intent in Sri Lanka was to hopefully capture photos of Leopards. What we got was way more than we bargained for! It was an amazing experience.

Wow amazing how often do you get to see something like this. The lighting and detail are perfect, you must have had a heck of a trip. Also thanks for sharing this in my project Owls & Other birds of prey!!

It is amazing what you can shoot on a safari with a camera. Please share what your camera and lens was for this shot. It is the best of the best in my opinion.
