Location
In the studio with plenty of tarps to catch all the flying flour.Time
I took this around 2-3pm in studio but we have blackvout blinds to control the lighting.Lighting
I used two flash units as back lighting on either side and one front flash unit as a butterfly lighting technique. It had to be high speed flash to capture the flour in the air at the right moment.Equipment
I used a nikon d3500 3 elinchrom flash units flour and some tarps.Inspiration
I wanted to do a series exploring movement with shutter speed. Some inspiration photos I came across got me really excited to do this shoot.Editing
I edited on light room but it didn't need much. Just some contrast and that.In my camera bag
I usually have my camera, a prime lens 35 mm and my kit lens 18 to 55mm. You will always find me with different light sources for light painting and uv lights as well. I love experimenting with light.Feedback
Research and planning. For this type of shoot that counts the most. I only spent an hour on the actual shoot as I had so much planning done. Also leave time to clean up the flour. Very important.
