Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the Netherlands during a photo shoot of birds of prey.Time
It was late afternoon of a beautiful warm summer day on August 29, 2021.Lighting
I was lucky that the evening light softened the harsh shadows. There was still enough light to use a fast shutter speed and with a small aperture I got a nice "Bokeh" of the background.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III with a 70-200/2,8 L lens, no tripod or flash.Inspiration
The beautiful animal, impressive in size with piercing eyes was a real joy to photograph, it took a lot of patience to photograph this beautiful owl in just the right place, I was lucky enough to be up close and he was right into the lens watched my movements so close.Editing
Always Lightroom and Photoshop, that's it.In my camera bag
I always have my telephoto lens, 70-200mm/2.8, a 300mm 2.8L fixed focal length lens as well as a wide angle lens and my 85mm 1.2L, sometimes I take two cameras with me in case one of them breaks down, I always have neutral density filters with me both 5 stop neutral density filter and gray gradient filters.Feedback
Take a good look around and most importantly patience and more patience, in the first place the welfare of the animals, always quiet movements so that the animals are not startled, just do it! Good luck.
