Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken at the local Forest Near Taree in the Manning Valley. I used a Samsung Note 8. This photo Spurred me on to Buy a Camera and start Taking Photos.

Time

The Fires in our area started In October and had been going for over a month. We had a lot of Rain on the weekend and I checked the fire status on the Wednesday it was at a distance from the Lookout. I Got my MTB and went for an early morning ride to Break Neck Lookout, I took my phone as I was on call with work. Even after the Rain there were lots of tree stumps and fall trees still smouldering and small fires in them. Half way up the mountain I stopped and took this phono 26th, November 2019

Lighting

The sun was behind my low in the sky. As you can see from the photo it is skimming the tops of the trees.

Equipment

I used a Samsung Note 8 Phone and Natural Light.

Inspiration

I wanted to see what damage was caused by the fires, you have to remember it went on for Months and the forest was closed. Its still closed. What I saw was lots of damage and I took the photo so other people could see what it was like. It was also opportunistic as I had my phone on me and my main purpose of the trip was the bike ride.

Editing

No

In my camera bag

When out on the bike I take my phone Samsung note 8 or my iPhone 6+. If intentionally going out to take photos I have a Canon EOS 1500D

Feedback

Go out before the sun rises or sun sets to get Different Lighting and shades as opposed to the full light.
