Photograph took in Autumnal Sunrise in Snowdonia national Park. Llyn PadarnTime
Shot at around 7am in October in order to capture the cloud colour behind the tree.Lighting
Lighting was not an issue for me here. I had enough ambient light to get the exposure correct and there was no glaring sun to contain with.Equipment
Canon eos 750d: Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I have seen a lot of shots taken of this tree. In Fact it is one of the most photographed trees in the world. I simply wanted to capture it in all its beauty, which meant capturing it in perfect conditions. thankfully I had it all.Editing
I got really close up and did not have an L bracket at the time. Therefore the shot is a 2 image vertical pano. I had to get close to give the tree a dominating standpoint. reduced highlights and clone removed one annoying shrub that got in the shot. Increased shadows slightly just to show the distant autumn colours. That is it really. In my camera bag
I have just bought a canon 7d mark ii which is a beast. I have bought it for its extra pixels and durability. A Benro tripod has also crept into my bag, which has a really nifty ball head on it. couple of filters which I rarely use now, as I tend to exposure blend in photoshop.Feedback
Get up early and shoot through the whole period of sunrise. We did not expect light and as a result, was about to pack up. This image is also all about what is not in the shot. I tried to keep any disturbances out apart from the shrub I clone removed. If you are shooting such a domineering subject such as this lone tree. Try to avoid losing it in the background. i got really low to shoot this, therefore no branch is clipping the background mountains.
