Nature has a role to play in everyones life whether the value is spiritual, or for just a sense of awe and belonging. The Adams River Sockeye Run is an important spiritual connection to the land for the First Nations Peoples of British Columbia from the Mouth of the Fraser River to the Spawning Grounds of the Adams River some 600km form the Pacific Ocean. Humans, with their industrial mindset, have not treated the Earth fairly by exploiting and mostly damaging the natural order of the earths cycles: the Adams Sockeye Run being no different from the damage done to the spawning grounds, the noise a traffic pollution of the lower Fraser River, increased Fishing for consumer consumption, and even the warming cycles or trends in the oceans placing stress on the Sockeye themselves (warmer water increases the potential for stress and disease-bacteria that survive on the population since immune systems are increasingly compromised). Peoples mindsets are seldom going to change: we are trying to survive as well, but actually participating in finding solutions instead of complaining is everyones duty to the earth.
