Happy and natural beauty. Excellent use of backlighting and background, keeping detail in her important features. A Winner! :)

Location
I took this photo in Balakovo, Russia. This photo was taken during my walk in the old part of the town. It is the part where some old mansions and modest wooden houses are located.Time
The photo was taken at sunset.Lighting
This photo was taken against the sun to add some romantic flavour to it. No reflectors were used.Equipment
I used a very simple Olympus DSLR camera - it was my primitive but trusted E-420 with Nikkor 50/1.4 Ai-s. The lens makes the effective focal length closer to what we get with a 100mm lens on a full frame. I like manual lenses. No flashes, hoods or tripods were used.Inspiration
Summertime, happiness and sunset inspired me. I have always been into portraiture on the street and this work is not an exception.Editing
Just a bit. I love natural, old-time photography. The portrayed people in my photos look natural though I do retouch their skin, their faces in a very natural manner. For this work, I only made some tweaks (exposure, contrast and minimal facial retouching). In my camera bag
I don't like to carry a ton of gear so now it is my Pentax K-50 with SMC Pentax K 55/1.8.Feedback
Use a telephoto lens, shoot at sunset, use a strong and positive exposure compensation, don't let the sun directly into the lens, shoot in the raw mode, put on a white shirt to use it as a reflector.
