Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica

Time

It was early morning around 7 am

Lighting

Because it was before the sun was high in the sky there was a softness that only dusk or dawn can provide.

Equipment

I used a Nikon 300mm Dx lens

Inspiration

The caiman spontaneously popped his head out of the water right beside my canoe.

In my camera bag

My smaller 18-55mm lens

Feedback

Experiment. I wasn’t sure how I could take a shot so close with my zoom lens but turned out to be better than using my 18-55mm.
