I am absolutely fascinated by the intricaciy of their facial disk feathers. It’s like looking at snow flakes. Barn owls in particular have the ability to arrange their facial feathers to help direct sound to their ears or away from their ears as neededEditing
I did crop in a little bit tighter post process. In my camera bag

This is not a shot that would be easy to capture in the wild. The advantage of shooting at a rehab center is the ability to get up close and personal with wildlife, without special lenses. Many wildlife rehabilitation facilities have an education arm which admits the public, usually for a nominal fee or donation. Those fees help feed and rehabilitate the wildlife in that area. Conservation is imperative to human survival.
