Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a cold morning at Corpach, just outside Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

Time

It was taken early in the morning, I had hoped for some sunrise light, but it turned out to be quite moody. I had stopped there on my way to Glencoe.

Lighting

The sunrise had not emerged but the grim lighting really suited the scene and I was pleased

Equipment

I used a Canon 5D. Mounted on a Gitzo tripod.

Inspiration

I have been at this location a few times when passing for work, and eventually made time to take my camera. The boat has been stranded for a while now and is an interesting subject.

Editing

I have used photoshop for slight modifications to the contrast and Nix for balance.

In my camera bag

I carry a compact equipment kit, aside from my camera I have Lee filters and a spare battery.

Feedback

Obtaining images that I like is my own motivation. I rely on composition and exposure to get the results that I seek. Fortunately aa an amateur, I only have to please myself, but I try to challenge my skills and attempt a range of images. I use Nix for minor changes and hope that my images are attractive to others.
