Behind The Lens

Location

This image was captured at the Jigokudani ( Monkey park ) park on a day trip from Nagano

Time

We arrived at the hot spring around 10:00, a tip is to be on the first train from Nagano to beat the crowds.

Lighting

the day was a sunny day with clear blue skies

Equipment

I was using my Canon m5 with the 18-150mm lens, remember you can get close to the monkeys about 1.5 meters ...

Inspiration

Just being able to view the monkeys

Editing

post was done in Luminar 2018

In my camera bag

My travel kit Canon eos m5 " 11-22mm 1.4 " 22mm 1.2 " 18-150 " macro 28mm

Feedback

Be on the first train from Nagano to beat the crowds. From the bus stop to the park gate (100 m uphill) in winter weather it’s almost imposable to walk without falling over at least once. Wear good boots or you can hire boots and crampons at the gate to the park. Consider witch lens you use as you can get very close to the monkeys.
