Behind The Lens

Location

As a car guy this one of my favorite places to hike to on the Sunshine Coast BC. The trail starts a few kilometers up the Middlepoint forest service road. It is an easy hike that takes about 20 mins on a very old and narrow logging road. You definitely know when you've reached the area, it is filled with old cars and trucks. Some are more dismantled then others but they all have been seriously grown over by the forest.

Time

This shot was taken around noon on a partially sunny day. The trees in the area are quite tall and the cars are quite treed in, so it can be very dark on cloudy days.

Lighting

There was some filtered light getting in behind the car so I tried to use and angle that allowed the camera to find more of the light.

Equipment

Canon 7D mark II with EF-S 18-135mm Lens.

Inspiration

Nothing better than cool old cars covered in moss in the middle of the forest. Well, except cool old cars that can actually drive around lol.

Editing

There wasn't to much post-processing done on this particular shot. I did some color correction and sharpening.

In my camera bag

Canon 7D mark II, 70-200mm F4 L, 24-105 F4 IS L, 2x extender and a tripod

Feedback

I took this shot before I carried my tripod everywhere with me. I'm very glad that I do now because for this shot I would have lowered my ISO allowing me to get a sharper shot then I got. I won't make that mistake again next time I'm there.
