Colour of the door and definition of the knocker complete with the residue cleaning film around the knocker which made it blend with the door. Felt like a true piece of Paris and no Eiffel Tower.Editing

No real advice. Just look everywhere for an interesting angle. Be prepared to take lots of shots from all angles possible then take the time back at your computer (or Dark Room if still using film) to analyse each shot. Digital give flexibility so you can dump the failed shots or store them to play with later but you will get that shot which stands out more than the others. Don't be afraid to experiment with what you see out there.
