This photo was taken in my backyard at my home in Valentines, Va. I am self taught and enjoy and embrace each photo I takeTime
This photo was take around midday after a beautiful snowfall. We do not have many snowfalls during the winter but it was beautiful and so innocent.Lighting
The lighting on this day was cloudy I wasn't sure how the white snow would photograph since I was new at that. I believe the light was perfect.Equipment
I was using my canon Mark III and my canon 70-200 mm. That is my go to for portraits. I was handholding the camera and no flash was used.Inspiration
I had gotten my beautiful granddaughter this winter coat and hat earlier in the year. When I saw the beautiful snow I immediately thought of how beautiful she would be in her coat, hand muffs and hat in the mist of the snow. Just pure innocence and beauty.Editing
I moved the photo over to Lightroom and adjusted the white balance and brought out some of the colors in the picture. Cropped the photo to focus on the girl.In my camera bag
I normally have with me my canon Mark III, canon 70-200 and my 35 mm. I carry my tripod if I am shooting waterfalls or wildlife.Feedback
In the south we do not get to many snow storms. I would suggest to think how awesome it would be to photograph some snow pictures. Take advantage of the opportunity and go with it. When photographing a young child be patient and just let them have fun. Let their imagination be your subject and what a beautiful memory you can capture.
