When we go on a hollday I always take my camera with me. This time we went to le Havre with friends and visited Honfleur, a little artistic harbour half an hour drive from le Havre. We walked in a small street where I saw a bike with an old saddle and gear bag. I took several pictures from different angles and this one was the best.Time
It was the first of october 2016, the same day I also took "Motorcycle", just before noon on a gray day.Lighting
I wanted the bag and the saddle as the most important items in the photo, so i used a large apertureEquipment
Camera Canon 600D, ISO 100, lens Sigma 24-70 at 56 mm, F2.8, 1/125 sec no tripod or flashInspiration
That day we walked in an artistic village and I tried to capture the atmosphere of the village. In this alley you had several shops with old stuff, some even antiques that were interesting to photograph. The sun was not shining very bright so the shadows were not very harsh. Inside the stores it wasn't easy to take good pictures whitout flash, I did not have one with me and I do not like to use the built-in flash.Editing
In Adobe lightroom I lowered the shadows and saturation. In my camera bag
In my bag I carry a plastic fantastic 50 mm, f1.8, a Tamron 24-70, f2.8 and my Canon 600D. Since a while I upgraded to a Canon 6D and I bought a Tamron 70-200, f 2.8. I just need to make more time to experiment with my new gear.Feedback
If you want to avoid hard shadows, go out to shoot on cloudy days or in the morning or evening. Try to find the right angle from where you shoot and use different settings to find the right depth of Feld.
