Location
This photo was taken in Stavanger in an old brewery . a friend of mine has previously danced ballet , therefore I chose to use her in this location. I am a graphic designer but has always had a big heart for photography. Capturing a moment is something I'm passionate about.Time
picture was taken at midday in October. The room has very large windows so lots of light coming into the room.Lighting
It was important for me to bring out the contrast between the old building and the "comely " dancer . The green color in the room was something that I wanted to get there, so that the mood of the image arrived. The chair stood in the room before. In this shoot we didn`t want to show some identity , so we got a more artistic expression , so the main focus was the legs. The image is just with natural light and a reflector.Equipment
Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 50mm lens 1:1.8 and a silver reflector.Inspiration
I've always been fascinated by dance and ballet. Constrast is something I use a lot in my pictures so I'd also get that on this image. I spend some time creating moodboard before photography as inspiration for this came from ideas from similar moodEditing
The colors have been adjusted in lightroom to bring out the colors better . It also added more contrast. Dodging and burning and clone stamp is using with Photoshop. In my camera bag
In my bag a have my tripod. I hate to use it because I lose the freedom of movement, but sometimes i have to use it with long shuttertimes. Nikon D750 is my best friend with my nikkor 24 - 70mm. When I`m traveling i use nikkor 28 mm. easy and light to carry.Feedback
Location is top priority . Much reseach, lots of it, often using moodboard so you know what mood you want. Use time so you get the picture you want. The ability to use natural light is absolutt a plus. For editing i will absolute recommended you too use tablet as walcome. My biggest critic is myself. Work with the picture until you get satisfied with the result. If you are not satisfied, start over, or leave it away later. I am still learner in editing and photography, but I am learning new things all the time. This is something I have learned in the hard way after many years of photography and editing.
