Location
This image was shot from the Santa Monica pier in California while i was shooting local surfers.Time
It was shot midmorning. I was out and about shooting local surfers but as the tides died down i started to play with composition and trying to capture the right moment of waves breaking.Lighting
The midmornimg light was really nice, hardly any shadows as the day was a bit overcast.Equipment
This was shot on an Olympus EP5 with a. Olympus 75mm f1.8 lensInspiration
I was out shooting surfers in the morning but as the waves started to die down and surfers started calling it a day i was left with no subject to shoot at and whole lot of time. The water was an incredible blue color which really stood out to me so i started to experiment with composition and angles to try to capture a unique angle/ composition and that is how i ended up with this image.Editing
Thankfully the water during time of the year are really clear and get a nice Caribbean blue so i didnt have to process the files a whole lot. I mainly increased the exposure and called it a day.In my camera bag
Either my olympus EP5 and 75mm lens or a fujifilm x100s.Feedback
Dont think because you dont have interesting subjects like surfers or people that you cant get an interesting shot. Mundane objects and an eye for composition will force you to try new angles to get an image you will love.
