Location
I went randomly storm chasing around the Castle Rock, CO area, south of the Denver Metro. I ended up driving all around to find a cool spot which just so happened to be in front of a U-Haul/Laudromat Driveway on a random country road lol. The red streak of light was actually from one of the U-Haul trailers and the glowing city lights are from Castle Rock!Time
I believe this speaks for itself :pLighting
I've always had an affinity with lightning, ever since i learned what the heck bulb mode was and was trying to hand hold bulb off my friend's balcony in Otterbach, Germany ha. I get mesmerized by anything Mother Nature and living in Colorado definitely capitalizes on my curiosity in every way imaginable.Equipment
I sat in my Subaru Forester with my Sony A7s II + Zeiss Batis 25 with the camera, on top of my dash board, propped on my index finger to hold the frame in that composition i wanted lol. I believe it was a 20 or 30 second exposure but I really don't recall anything besides the fact that my shoulders were burning - realll bad :pInspiration
There was no particular inspiration but I feel inspired 100% of the time. My inspiration is to create the best possible image that I am capable of producing every time I press the shutter button. Every shot should have a purpose and not necessarily something serious, but definitely something meaningful. I wander. I shoot. I enjoy life and everything it has to offer!Editing
This was a single frame. Really speaks to the Dynamic Range of the Sony cameras. I had to photoshop out the reflection from my dashboard as well as the raindrops on the windshield and an ugly mailbox. That's about it.In my camera bag
I have an Everyday Messenger Bag totin' around a Sony A7s II with a Zeiss Batis 25 attached to it about 99% of my shots. I like to get in my subjects face as a lifestyle/street shooter. I guess it works out for landscapes too :p The other 1% of the time I use a Sony 70-200 f/4.Feedback
The only real advice is to go and explore. Continue pushing your limits and try something new every shoot. Try an angle you've never tried. Try using a grid on your lighting if you never have. Sit and wait for the perfect shot and don't just be content with just anything. Whatever the case, never cease learning and exploring. It'll do wonders for not only your photography, but your outlook on life :) Remember: Perspective.
