This photo was shot from the window of an airplane while I was traveling from the U.S.A. to Rome, Italy. Due to the time changes and the length of the flight I was privileged to watch the sun both set and rise within the span of a few hours.Time
This is one of my favorite photos I've ever shot. Because of the excitement I was hit with on the plane, I couldn't sleep a wink. My flight was filled with reading, movie watching, and cloud looking. Since the sun was so bright while it was setting the majority of the plane, including myself, had closed their windows to keep the light out so everyone could sleep. I peeked my window open at one point after one of the movies ended and was lucky enough to watch the sun rise from my window seat. Truly a breathtaking experience.Lighting
I shot this in automatic mode on my Fujifilm X-30. At the time I had zero experience when it came to manual mode and what the heck aperture and shutter speed are so to keep from getting an underexposed image or something like that, I shot it in automatic.Equipment
This was shot on a Fujifilm X-30 with no additional lens or flash.Inspiration
Getting to see the beautiful sunrise from the plane it was almost as if the sun was asking me to take the photo.Editing
I didn't have to do anything post-processing.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Fujifilm X-30 and nothing else. I try not to use flash just because I don't care for the way the images end up looking. Just a personal preference.Feedback
Honestly, this was a lucky shot.
