Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at loch ard, near the pass of aberfoyle. i am a student photographer at college so still learning the tips and tricks of photography.

Time

This is one of the best images i managed to capture on this shoot. Taken this image was different from other shoots as i had no tripod and when it being around sunset i had to improvise so i place the camera on my motorbike seat to capture it so this image wasnt blurry because of the light going. this was taken may 2016 at 9:30pm.

Lighting

i wanted to capture to sense of when the sun is setting how the colour temperature charges from warm to cold.

Equipment

for this shoot all i used was my trusted fujifilm x10, plus a motorbike for its seat as the tripod.

Inspiration

when looking to take a landscape images i always like to find things that are connected one way or an other where its the pier and the boat shed in a environment where the materials grow i.e wood.

Editing

there was not much post-processing done to this image, i done the basic adjustments, brightness, contrast, highlights and shadows.

In my camera bag

from the start of my photography career i started of with canon gear. had the canon 1100d,550d,50d,7d all where great cameras but then mirrorless was the way forward smaller kit to carry which is important when doing landscape photography. the cameras i have now the sony a6000 + 16-50mm + 16mm + 55-210mm, fujifilm x-e1 + 16-50 mm and fujifilm x10.

Feedback

make sure you have a tripod, as i adapted to not having one but many people wont be able to adapted, also try different angles, focal length, just keep at it never give up if you dont get the same image.
