This photo was taken at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. This fireworks show was a part of their special New Years Eve fireworks display.Time
This image was taken around 6:30 in the evening on December 30th. At Magic Kingdom the New Years fireworks are shown for two days probably to accommodate the heavy crowds.Lighting
Fireworks are fun to shoot and also challenging. I always use a neutral density filter when shooting fireworks. That helps me be able to use a longer shutter speed and capture more bursts.Equipment
I shoot with the NIkon D750. I always use a tripod when shooting fireworks as well as a wired cable release.Inspiration
I love fireworks! And who else does fireworks like DIsney! Capturing the perfect fireworks shot has been a passion for me. I have been working on it for several years and Disney is the place I normally shoot.Editing
This image was edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. First I stacked 2 images in photoshop to fill in the bursts. Then in Lightroom I adjusted saturation and clarity. Brought up the shadows and brought down the highlights a little. I sharpened a little bit and that is about it.In my camera bag
I shoot with the Nikon D750. The lenses I have in my bag include the NIkon 24-70 2.8, NIkon 100 2.8 Macro, NIkon 14-24 2.8, Tamron 70-200 2.8. I usually bring my wired cable release and off camera flash. I have the Progrey filter system for the NIkon 14-24 and the B&W neutral density filter for the others.Feedback
For capturing fireworks I recommend that the photographer uses a tripod and find another way to stabilize the camera. Also use a wired cable release to lessen camera shake. I shoot in the bulb mode and manual focus. I set the focus to infinity. I generally always use a neutral density filter when shooting fireworks. It allows me to keep the shutter open longer without blowing out the bursts.
