This photo was taken in the colour darkroom while studying at University for my BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Art practice with Photography.Time
This was one of the surprise images where i had been in the colour darkroom for hours playing around with handmade objects, using them for photograms and this appeared, i was amazed. Probably around 4.00pm after a long day in the DarkroomLighting
This image was a trial and error of playing with the lighting on the enlarger, after some not so successful attempts i got it right. Fortunately with it being a colour photogram it was easier to get a striking image because the filter levels did not need changing because of the object i was using.Equipment
This image was not taken on a camera, this was a darkroom image. All i used was the enlarger, photo-paper and an object.Inspiration
I was working on a project at university using objects to make photograms in the colour darkroom. The project was called In One's own little world, based around the idea that we all live in different mind-sets and worlds of our own.Editing
Before creating the image i made a series of resin casts which is what i used for exposing in the darkroom. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag i will have my camera, canon EOS 400D with my canon 18-55mm lens. My tripod and a range of filters. I sometimes i have a change of lens, and i do usually have my analogue camera too. But prefer digital.Feedback
Experiment a lot. Trial and Error is the best way to learn. Try things you never would, if i had not thought about trying something which seemed bizarre but wondered what would happen, this image would not be here.
