This photo was taken at the Wings Over Houston airshow where the excitement and photo opportunities are never ending!! The exciting part is you never know exactly what you are going to capture in the photo!Time
This photo was taken October 11, 2016 at 3:09 p.m. in the afternoon, it was a challenge to focus in the sky with the sun shining super bright. The announcer told the audience that the F16 was about the break the sound barrier and get your cameras ready - WOW what a exciting announcement and my adrenalin was flowing like a deer hunter waiting for that huge buck to come walking out!!Lighting
It was a very sunny day with no clouds so just natural lighting!Equipment
The camera I used was a DSLR Sony A-300 -Zoom lens - No tripod and no flashInspiration
I have been attending Wings Over Houston airshow for about 8 years now and before I went on my first trip I remember viewing other photos people had taken from there and they were fantastic shots and I kept thinking "Man I wish I could capture a shot like that!!" It is the thrill and excitement of the airshow that inspires me to keep going and keep that expectation of the next great photo!!Editing
No I did not do any post processing. In my camera bag
I Now use a Canon EOS Rebel T6. Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm and a Image Stabilizer MACRO EFS 18-55mm. I also carry with me a compact case with 4 extra/16 GB cards, I carry my battery charger which I can charge in my car if necessary and my tripod I always carry. For fun I also carry a Kodak Z981 with a AF 26X Optical Zoom Wide Angle (14 mega pixels) I have also used this camera at the airshows to video with.Feedback
Always be ready for the unexpected at a airshow! Don't worry about if you capture the shot you were after or not, just shoot away and the next excitement comes when you view the photos on your computer. Take plenty of camera cards, batteries a cap and chair and lots of water! I encourage photographers experienced or not to go and experience the thrill and excitement of the show, it is all worth it!!
