A flaming glow

In the Hindu (lunar) calendar, a month consists of 27 days. The current month is called "Adika Masa" (Adika - Extra, Masa - Month) with 33 days. This occurs once every 33 calendar months as the lunar calendar falls behind the solar calendar.

In this extra month, there are all kinds of things that people in my religion do. For example, religious discourses are presented in the local temples, various events are organized, women light 33 diyas in their homes everyday.

My mother also lights the 33 diyas at home everyday for these 33 days.
