Thanks, I will go here often but prefer a slow day with less of a crowd.

Sorry I have deleted a Congratulation from a fellow Viewbug due to my lack of knowledge of this software. I wished I could reverse it but I do not know how.

Behind The Lens

Location

Taken from the top floor of ACME, a restaurant converted from an old feed store in Nashville, TN this was really my race against time to get a sunset shot.

Time

Usually I am downtown between 7 and 8 pm to capture a different sky as I wander thru the streets of Nashville.

Lighting

Using the natural light of the sun and the street lights I seldom take a flash while planning a landscape.

Equipment

I own Sony cameras and chose the A7R with a wide angle SEL1018 lens.

Inspiration

This photo was an impulse shot taken in a hurry after a meal. My goal was to exit the restaurant and spend more time at different locations but I was with family and made the best of what little time I had.

Editing

I used photoshop to crop and Nik software Color Efex Pro to adjust contrast. I also used Dfine in Nik to to cut the noise in the sky and Detail Extractor to sharpen the buildings. I used Output Sharpener to blur the sky by adjusting sliders to the left and using the brush tool.

In my camera bag

Opening my camera bag I have the Sony A7R with the VG vertical grip installed and A6000 camera. The Lens are FE 2,8/35, SEL1018, FE 1,8/55 and FE 4/70-200 G OSS. The Fotopro X4i-E is light weight and attached to my bag.

Feedback

The sunset is my goal and the colors that you can get with each sunset can be a surprise for the persistent photographer that arrives early enough. I like to do repeat visits to the same spot and practice long exposures and HDR when I like the location with plans of practicing post production using Photoshop with Nik software.
